Crystalline and cement-based protection for below-grade concrete across Doha and Qatar. Free site assessment from ISO-certified applicators.
Cementitious waterproofing is a cement-based treatment applied to concrete and blockwork so water cannot travel through the structure. You brush or spray it onto an existing wall, or mix crystalline additives into a new pour. The material works into pores and capillaries rather than sitting on the surface like a sheet membrane, so a basement slab or tank wall stays protected even if the outer layer gets scratched during build-out. Crystalline systems can go a step further: when moisture reaches a hairline crack later on, the chemicals react again and seal the gap from inside. That is why engineers specify it for foundations, lift pits, and water storage across Doha and the wider Gulf, where groundwater and heat push concrete harder than in cooler climates.
Pedox Qatar delivers cementitious and crystalline waterproofing for new builds and existing structures across Doha and wider Qatar. We work with consultants, main contractors, and property owners on basement slabs, raft foundations, lift pits, water tanks, retaining walls, and below-grade parking.
Every project starts with a site assessment: we review drawings, check substrate condition, and confirm exposure to groundwater or hydrostatic pressure before specifying a system. Our applicators then prepare the concrete, apply the agreed crystalline or polymer-modified coating, and hand over method statements and coating records for your project file.

Cementitious systems are a practical choice when concrete is buried, tanked, or in contact with soil:
Surface preparation determines performance. We follow manufacturer data sheets and Qatar project specifications at every stage.
Moisture mapping, crack survey, and substrate condition review to choose crystalline, slurry, or hybrid specification.
Mechanical cleaning, leak repair, rounding of sharp edges, and priming where the system requires it.
Brush or spray application in measured coats; crystalline slurry brushed into saturated concrete where specified.
Controlled curing, thickness checks, protection during backfill, and written method statement for your records.
Both are cement-based; the difference is how they behave after application.
| Factor | Crystalline | Polymer-modified slurry |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Basements, foundations, tanks, lift pits | Podiums, terraces with limited movement, repair zones |
| Crack behaviour | Can seal hairline cracks via crystal growth | Flexible film; relies on intact coating |
| Typical service life | Decades when embedded in concrete | 15–25 years with maintenance |
| Application | Often two coats on damp or dry prepared concrete | Multi-coat slurry with defined dry times |
Not sure which system fits your drawing? Our team reviews structural details and exposure before quoting. Liquid membrane waterproofing may suit exposed roofs better. See our comparison on that page or ask during consultation.
Negative- and positive-side protection for slabs, walls, and raft foundations in contact with soil or groundwater.
Food-grade cementitious linings for potable storage, balancing watertightness with regulatory compliance.
Resistance to hydrostatic pressure on earth-retaining and basement perimeter walls.
Below-grade transit, utility, and civil structures requiring durable integral waterproofing.
Specialist cementitious formulations for pools and water features when the design calls for rigid tanking.
Chemical-resistant coatings for plant rooms, bunds, and utility structures.

Get a Free QuoteCementitious waterproofing uses cement-based coatings or crystalline admixtures applied to concrete and masonry. The material bonds with the substrate and blocks water passage while remaining breathable, which makes it well suited to basements, foundations, and water-retaining structures.
We apply cementitious systems on basement slabs and walls, lift pits, water tanks, retaining walls, podiums, and below-grade parking across Doha and wider Qatar. It is especially effective where concrete is in direct contact with soil or groundwater.
When substrate preparation and application are done correctly, crystalline cementitious systems can perform for decades. Polymer-modified coatings typically deliver 15–25 years of service. We recommend a visual inspection every three to five years.
Liquid membranes form a flexible sheet-like layer on the surface. Cementitious systems integrate with concrete and are rigid but highly durable for buried or tank applications. The right choice depends on movement, exposure, and whether the structure is below grade.
Pricing depends on area, access, surface condition, and system type. Basic cementitious coatings often fall in the QAR 18–30 per m² range; crystalline or multi-coat specifications may be higher. We provide a free site assessment and itemised quote before work begins.
